៣) សីលជាស្ពាន ទានជាស្បៀង ។

Morals are the bridge, alms are the food.

៤) កាលដែលឈឺធ្ងន់ យកដំរីទៅបន់​ ដល់ជំងឺស្រន់ យកពងមាន់ទៅថ្វាយ។ You are seriously ill and you promise to offer an elephant; as soon as you recover, it’s only egg.

៥) ផ្លូវវៀចកុំបោះបង់ ផ្លូវត្រង់ឲ្យដើរផង ។

Do not give up on taking the indirect roads; direct roads, you should also take.

៦) ចង់បុណ្យ បានបាប ។

You aspire to the good and obtain misfortune.

៧) លោកថាឆ្កួតបី ១ ឆ្កួតនឹងស្រី ២ ឆ្កួតនឹងស្រា ៣ ឆ្កួតនឹងល្បែង ។

The monks say there are three insanities: 1) with women, 2) with alcohol, 3) with gambling.

៨) ឲ្យអំបោះ កុំឲ្យស្រណោះដៃ ។

May the hand that offers the luck bringing cotton thread give it without regret.

៩) ខ្មាសល្ងង់ទើបចេះ ខ្មាសក្រទើបមាន ។

If you feel shame at being ignorant, you will become educated; if you feel shame at being poor, you will become rich.

១០) ចង់ចេះ ឲ្យធ្វើល្ងង់ ។

You want to learn, so pretend to be ignorant.

១១) ដឹងថាខ្លួនល្ងង់ គង់នឹងមានប្រាជ្ញា ។

If you know you are ignorant, you are full of wisdom.

១២) ចង់ចេះ ឲ្យសម្លាប់អាចារ្យ ចង់បានផ្លែផ្កា ឲ្យយកភ្លើងដុតគល់ ។

If you want to learn, kill the master, if you want the fruits, burn the foot of the tree.

១៣) មានទ្រព្យគាប់គ្រាន់បើ តែពុំស្មើនឹងវិជ្ជា ។

To possess wealth is good, but it is not worth more than possessing knowledge.

១៤) នំមិនធំជាងនាឡិ ។

A cake isn’t bigger than the basket.

១៥) លើកស្នា កម្លាក្អែក ។

Lift a crossbow in order to intimidate the ravens.

១៦) ដំរីជើងបួនគង់មានភ្លាត់ អ្នកប្រាជ្ញចេះស្ទាត់គង់មានភ្លេច ។

An elephant on its four legs may stumble; even a knowledgeable scholar may be forgetful.

១៧) កុំបង្ហាត់ក្រពើឲ្យចេះហែលទឹក ។

Don’t try to teach crocodile how to swim.

១៨) ចេះច្រើន របេះក្បាច់ ។
